The basics
How to play
Choose six number tiles, then try to reach the three-digit target using addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
Choosing numbers
The board contains four large tiles — 25, 50, 75 and 100 — and two copies of each small number from 1 to 10. Pick any six tiles, or use the quick draw control to choose how many large numbers you want.
Making calculations
- Each starting tile can be used at most once.
- An intermediate result becomes a new number that can be used in a later step.
- Intermediate results must be positive whole numbers.
- You do not have to use all six starting tiles.
You can undo individual steps or rewind your workings if you change direction. The “Show step totals” option can hide intermediate totals while keeping the calculation itself visible.
Timer and scoring
The optional round timer is 60 seconds. The game awards 10 points for an exact result, 7 points for being within 5, and 5 points for being within 10.
After the round
SumGoal compares your answer with a server-side solver. If an exact answer exists, the solver now prefers the solution using the fewest arithmetic steps. Among equally short solutions it favours more straightforward arithmetic.
